As the festive season approaches it’s time that many a police force and radio station go into “Don’t drink and drive” overdrive.
John Myers recently recalled a “name and shame” campaign he ran at Century Radio back in the 90s.
So in this edition in my Sound Archive series, I’m turning the clock back further to sometime in the 1970s with a powerful promotion run by San Diego “Top 40 powerhouse” KCBQ.
There is little I am going to add to the audio, other than to state it’s amazing this is forty years old, it could work just as well today.
Hat tip to Geoff Barton, from which I sourced this clip, from a long KCBQ montage he shared in the past.
